‍Don't forget as good researchers you must always carefully select and evaluate information. Use the 5 criteria below to assess your sources and information:

Anyone can publish information.
  • Who wrote/sponsored the information?
  • Is the author/sponsor qualified? An expert?
  • Does the author provide information about themselves?
‍Authority/Authorship
  • Is the information reliable and error free?
  • Is there someone who checks or verifies the information?
‍Bias / Point of View
  • What type of audience is the author addresing?
  • Is the information fact, opinion or propaganda?
  • Is there multiple points of view?
  • Is the language free of emotion?
  • Is the information provided supported by research?
‍Currency
  • How current is the information? Is their a publication date?
  • Are the links up to date?
  • What kind of information are you looking for? statistics? historic events? current events?
